The Team
The ICMART team consists of qualified professionals from all over the world, elected by the governing board for ICMART. Team members have extensive research or practice experience in ART and IVF.
Ibrahim Wada
Dr. Wada is the Founder/CEO of Nisa Hospital as well as Chief Medical Adviser to Nisa Medical Group which also include the Institute of Medical Sciences Africa (IMSA).
He obtained his MBBS degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 1980. From 1982-1989, he held residency posts at Jos University Teaching Hospital; similarly, he held residency posts at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge UK 1986-1987 and Queen Elizabeth Hospital, King’s Lynn 1988-1989. He was Clinical Research Fellow in Reproductive Medicine at Manchester Fertility Services, 1989-1990 and St. Mary’s Hospital, Manchester 1991-1992.
He is a Fellow of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (FRCOG) UK, Fellow of the West African College of Surgeons (FWACS) and has held Consultant posts at Bourn hall Clinic, Cambridge in 1992-1994, Gwagwalada Specialist Hospital 1994-1999 and Chief Consultant at the National Hospital, Abuja, 1999 – 2002. He was the Chairman, Medical Advisory Committee (CMAC) at National Hospital from 2002 to 2004. He became the pioneer Medical Director of Garki Hospital Abuja, the first Public Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement following the signing of the Concession Agreement with the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) from 2007 to 2009 and now the Medical Adviser to the same hospital. He is the current President of the Association for Fertility and Reproductive Health (AFRH).
In addition to his medical qualifications, Dr. Wada holds a Master of Business Administration in International Hospitals and Healthcare Management from the Frankfurt School of Finance & Management in Germany.
Dr. Wada is a recipient of the National Award of the Officer of the Order of Niger (OON) conferred on him by the Federal Government of Nigeria in 2006; for his ground-breaking works in the field of In-vitro Fertilization (IVF) in medicine.
He has authored in more than 20 academic research articles published in peer review journals and has published 2 books: The Second Chance and PPP in the Health Sector.
