Valerie L. Baker is the Richard W. TeLinde and Edward E. Wallach Professor of Gynecology and Obstetrics and the Director of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Prior to joining the faculty at Hopkins in January of 2019, she served as Chief of the Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Stanford University. She received her MD from Harvard Medical School, her Master’s in Public Policy from the Harvard Kennedy School, and completed her residency and fellowship at the University of California, San Francisco. Dr. Baker’s areas of clinical expertise include assisted reproductive technology and primary ovarian insufficiency. She has served as President of the Society for Assisted Technology (SART) and President of the Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility (SREI). Her current research focuses on health outcomes for women and their offspring following fertility treatment. She is currently leading an NIH-sponsored multi-center clinical trial comparing two commonly used protocols for frozen embryo transfer.
